something called tomorrow...

on the otherside of yesterday...
ive been chasing...
something called tomorrow,

but I can't seem to find it...
as today keeps...
passing it on by

somewhere in the darkness...
I can see a...
glimmering light a shining,

Telling me...
that it's ok
i just gotta keep on riding,

Where I'm going...
I don't know...
I'll tell you when I'm there,

when yesterday's a memory...
and tomorrows just a dream,
we can hold on to anything...
or just let go it seems,

it really doesn't matter...
cause time keeps...
marching on,

while we 're searching...
for a better path...
than the one were on,

In the end...
were nothing better
than a product of,

the choices...
that we've made
And the things we've done,

tomorrow I may wake up...
regretting some of what i'll do,
as i try to find some happiness,
before my life is through,

isn't that...
much better than..
regretting letting it pass by,

So let's grab hold...
of this here moment...
and just enjoy the ride,

Let's toast to adventure

Let's toast to adventures wherever they lead,
This world was a gift,
For you and for me,

May our fortunes be many,
May our worries be few,
Many our nights not be lonely,
When our days are through,

May our skies be filled with sunshine,
until we need rain,
May we vast in our good times,
May we learn from our pain,

May we never stop searching,
For what it is we won't find,
For lifes in the journey,
And nothing will teach us that but time,

In a world filled with wonder,
May we only sit still,
To take in the majesty,
of what we have found,

May we do on to others,
as we'd hope to be done,
For at the end of this lifetime,
Our journeys just begun,

So as I met you my stranger,
I now call you friend,
Here's to hoping our paths,
Will one day cross again,

I'll take with me the memories,
Of the time we did share,
As from you I've learned lessons,
that will always be there,

As we take down this drink,
And get on our way,
Lets toast to adventure,
Through all of our days,

bobbie im to drunk to drive this golfcart...

we were sitting outside camp under an old tin roof,
shooting the shit and howling at the moon,
while the falling rain drops kept beat with the tune,
getting high as hell and sure wern't feeling any pain,

everyone around had started going to bed,
the rain let up and there were only a few of us left,
and i dug up the keys and said who's coming,

everyone kinda looked at me like i was half nuts,
there wasnt nothing around us but mud,
and as twisted as i was i couldnt find me many volunteers,

Then up stepped Bobby who had had his share,
And he sat down right next to me,
We grabbed our hand on 6 more cAns and we were headed to the lake,

A couple corners around the bend Bobby seemed to have something on his mind,
Another 3 cans in he finally broke to tell me what he had to say
He said I know you think that were to young
and might be mad I asked her for her hand,
But I just want you to know that were in love
and I'm gonna do the best I can ,

and your an uncle she's always looked up to,
and it's sure be nice if we knew you approved,

His words for sure did sound sincere and I knew this must be hard,
And I wanted to chose my words carefully as I began to speak my part,

I said Bobbie I'm to drunk to drive this golf cart,
I said Bobbie we gottA find our way back home,
I said Bobbie I'm to drunk to drive this golf cart,
I said Bobbie I don't even remember which damn road,
I said bobbie I hat to it this conversation short,
But sometimes the best stories are left untold,

We laughed and tried to pick the streets as he was more lost than me,
We turned in circles corvette seemed like years
Always seeing that same damn tree,

Then somehow we finally mAde it back laughing so hard we both cried,
And in that moment things were shared that words could not describe,

I said Bobbie I'm to drunk to drive this golf cart,
I said Bobbie we gotta find our way back home,
I said Bobbie I'm to drunk to drive this golfcart,
I. Can't even remember who h damn road,
I said Bobbie I hate o cut this cpversation short,
But sometimes the best words are the ones left untold,

hey little ma

i said
hey little ma,
what it is your doing,
you are the one,
i want to be pursuing,

i saw you over there
talkin to your girlfriends,
when you walked past
i had to do a head spin,

i knew right away,
i couldnt letcha slip away,
so i started chewing on the words
for it was that i could say,

i chugged down my drink
and ordered up another round,
asked the bartender
what it was you were sippin down,

with both in my hand,
one each for me and you,
i slipped on over here
to go and make my first move,

i handed you the drink
and gave to you my first name,
then went ahead and asked
if you'd be kind enough to do the same,

sure as well enough
the conversation started flowing,
deep inside your eyes
i saw the interest growing,

round about this time,
my head started swellin',
thinkin' im a pimp and my ego started yellin',

i said
hey little ma,
where it is you going,
you are the one,
i want to be knowing,

im hoping that you
dont have to be going away,
im hoping maybe we,
can meet again another day,

please dont start to trip
if i started feelin head strong,
just trying to write a song,
and hopin' you might sing along,

i said
hey little ma,
what it is your doing,
you are the one,
i want to be pursuing,

i saw you over there
talkin to your girlfriends,
when you walked past
i had to do a head spin,

waiting on perfect

While I was waiting on those perfect words,
to write your perfect sonnnngggg,

i remember it all.... so vividly,
the memories echo... through my mind,
the words you said... the way you smiled,
how could i'''... be so blind,

the conversation see'''med... to want to flow,
it came ou'''t... pure as rain,
while we''''.. were stuck there...lost in time,
my world just...seemed to cha''nge,

but somehow'''.... i had left that night,
with nothin'... but a name,
and a hope and prayer that just maybe,
our paths would cross again some day,

i guess i was waiting on'... the perfect words,
to write that'... perfect song,
looking forrrrr'... the perfect time,
that i'... could just sing along,

waiting for'''.... that magic place,
to wri'te that.... perfect rhyme,
that would lead us... to another day,
waiting...as it all just passed me by,

there came me....

momma was a good lil’ girl.. till daddy come along,
got a ticket to the concert show.. where she heard him sing his song,
and she was gone…
gone… aint never been back again,
yeah she was gone.. lonnnnggg gone,
like a gypsy flower blowin’ in the wind,

a few months later in some town... on down the road,
the sheriff shining his spot light.. caught himself quite a show,
ohhhh.. there they were,
high as hell.. swimmin’ naked in the creek,
whooo-ohhh-ohhh... and 9 months later,
whooooo-ooooohhhhh.. there come me,

wild and free,
whoo-oohhh... a gypsy child born upon a dream,
whoooo-ohhhh-ohhh… there come me,

momma'd sing me lullabies at night.. while daddy was on the road,
we’d sit and count the days and nights… till daddy’d be comin’ home,
so we could sing,
lord yes we gonna sing,
whooo-ohhh-ohhhh, mom, and dad, and me,

then one day uncle sam come calling.. took daddy on off to war,
he come back home a few years later.. but he didn’t sing no more,
it must have been,
alllllll the damn things he’d done and seen,
nooo-ohh-ohhh.. but when he come home... no longer would he sing,

some years later I went and found me... daddy's old guitar,
taught myself to pick a tune... and now'owwwww here we are,

wild and free,
whoo-oohhh-ohhh... a gypsy child born upon a dream,
whoooo-ohhhh-ohhh… here come me,

one day i come home high as hell... trying to sneak in the back door,
and I caught daddy listenin’ to my songs.. tapping his feet on the floor,
just like a dream,
ohhhohh-how sweet it was when I heard daddy sing,
whooo-ohhh-ohhh... there come me,

as you can see, whhhoooo-ohhh-ohhh,
I never chose this life, nooo-ooohh-ohh it done choooose me,
whooohhh-oohhh-ohhh... wild and free,
whhooo-ohhh.. a gypsy child born upon a dream,

whooo-ohhh-ohhh.. there come me

(fading)
momma was a good lil girl.. till daddy came along,
got a ticket to the concert show.. where she heard him sing his song,
whoo-ohhh-ohh, and then came me….

i had written it all wrong

with a broken bottle full of empty dreams…
lost somewhere along this old highway,

i ordered up another round…
to wash on down the bitter taste of never-mind…
before I got back on my way,

flash photography of years gone by…
running back inside my mind,
and how those memories I had tried to trap down…
within my rhymes,

the misinterpretations that I sometimes get…
couldn’t be blamed on the words…
for which they came,

but only by the distortion and corruption of…
the delusion of the way this world has told us…
it had to be,

for the truth we know inside us lord…
and it tries to find its way out…
from time to time,

all I can do is pick up a pen…
and write in on a bar napkin…
before they throw me out again…
saying you've had too much my friend…
and I have to go and stumble on my way,

many times the words don’t come out right…
distorted by the climate that I’m in,
and it wasn’t till after many a year gone by…
that i realized I had written it all wrong,

see the hero always get’s the girl…
the villain never gets away…
and karma is more than my stripper friend…
who left me broke and busted…
on the side of that cold highway,

politicians are always looking out for you…
and don’t you ever doubt their words…
because their words are always true,

and good hard work and sacrifice…
always leads to better days and nights,
and no one ever got ahead…
by knocking someone else down,

and the musicians that win the awards…
well…
that's always because of the way they sound,

good guys never finish last…
our mistakes stay in the past…
and there’s always a silver lining…
to every storm,

and if you’re eating up any of this shit…
I’m gonna go out back and take a piss…
and this guitar will play the rest…
and you can just sit there and sing along,

the misinterpretations that I sometimes get…
couldn’t be blamed on the words…
for which they came,

but only by the distortion and corruption of…
the delusion of the way this world has told us…
it had to be,

for the truth we know inside us lord…
and it tries to find its way out…
from time to time,

all I can do is pick up a pen…
